LIVE PROJECT - IKEA
MARCH 2020 - JUNE 2020
The brief was to develop a design proposal for one of the
spaces in IKEA (Sheffield) set out by my client. I designed
a waiting space which shows that IKEA furniture could be
used in many ways with limitless creativity.
CONCEPT
To make the seating area in IKEA more interesting I designed a
house-representing structure with a cozy seating area inside of it.
The whole structure is made of timber battens and has clearly
marked themed sections with different furniture, all kept in the
Scandinavian modern style.
CONCEPT
My idea was to show people that with IKEA’s products they have
limitless abilities. The seating area would not only function as a
resting/waiting space but at the same time it would inspire and
show customers various ideas on how to use IKEA’s furniture in
different and creative ways.

To be more environment friendly IKEA could use faulty furniture
which wouldn’t be up for sale or furniture returned by customers.
The furniture inside could also be updated regularly to show new
ideas.
